I knew it!!!! I actually have nothing really to say about this, it just made me laugh. Look at his cute little face! "It's the face of learning. Bask in its educational glow."
Once, I was walking downtown in the city, and it was winter, but the kind of winter day when you could walk without a jacket and the snow was sticky enough to make snowmen. The person I was in theory engaged to at the time was walking beside me. I say 'in theory' because we never really formalised anything and we were very, very young.
Outside a bookstore, I heard a sound like someone throwing rocks at the car. I turned to look to see who was throwing rocks, and felt something fall into my hands. When I glanced down, I saw it was a pigeon.
It was frightened; I could feel its heart racing in its chest. It cooed a couple of times then, and buried its head into one of my hands. It didn't try to bite or escape, and after a few minutes it looked back up at me.
I didn't know what to do with it. I went to put it down on the ground, and then noticed that most of its innards had only been inside after the collision with the post/building/wall/tall guy because the bird had been in my hands.
I picked it back up, split gizzard and all, and held it until it died. It was grey and white, but had purple iridescent shots through its feathers. And green.
